"A Bridge to the Past"

Two-story house with a front porch and manicured lawn.

Pascoe House Museum
183 Cedar Street
South Republic Location

The group seeks to provide various programs, displays, exhibits and workshops for the public, developing an understanding of our heritage.  This is accomplished through resource people, oral history, research and the collection of artifacts, documents and photographs. The Republic area is at the northern end of M-95 in central Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Most of the area is located along the scenic Michigamme River, an old Indian canoe route from Lake Superior to Lake Michigan.

The Republic Area Historical Society was created as a non-profit organization in September of 1992.  In February of 1993 it was incorporated.  The purpose of the organization is to collect, preserve, display and distribute historical knowledge of the Republic area.

We display changing meaningful exhibits to show the economic, occupational, social and cultural history of Republic.
