Welcome to Republic, Michigan!
We are quietly world famous for having the Northwoods’ best four seasons activities in the UP. Watching wildlife, observing Fall colors, snowmobiling, fishing for trout, walleye, and bass. We also have hunting for white tail deer or black bear, ORVing, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, ice fishing, hiking, cycling, white water kayaking as well as quiet kayaking, canoeing, camping at state and township campgrounds, are just a sampling of the great outdoor activities available.
Republic is experiencing a rebirth after the Republic specular hematite mine closed in 1981. New mineral deposits have been found nearby by the mining companies and the Eagle Mine is the first of many expected developments. To further the production, the processing mill in the old Humboldt Mine location just North of Republic is almost completed. We expect jobs to be available, and housing in our community to be needed. Now is the time to make a commitment to yourself and your family to be on the ground floor in the upcoming renaissance of the community.

Suomi’s corner. When our equipment couldn’t handle the eight feet of frost, we brought in the big equipment. Problem solved.
